The 1st International Road Rescue Fair (FIRECA), held a week ago in Seville, is now history. History with a very positive outcome for REAC. Here is the story.
After three intense days at Fibes, the Seville Conference and Exhibition Centre, the first International Road Rescue Fair, FIRECA, came to an end. The event took place in a 7,200-square-metre hall, with 75 direct exhibitors and more than 150 indirect ones, as well as a demo area and a forum of training activities for professionals working in road rescue and roadside assistance. Topics covered across the various talks and workshops included rescue in electric vehicles and intervention involving people with physical disabilities, among others.
As well as learning about the latest developments in the sector, both regulatory and technological, the event was an ideal opportunity for companies and professionals to share ideas. At our Red de Empresas de Auxilio en Carretera, REAC, we took the opportunity to present the organisation and hold our General Assembly.
REAC's assessmentThe out
come could not have been more positive, given the magnificent image projected by REAC as a Network that pools efforts for better coexistence and competition in the roadside assistance and recovery sector. More than 25 companies have shown interest in our Network, which aroused great curiosity among Fireca attendees. The presentation of the organisation attracted enormous interest; in fact, the room was over capacity and extra seats had to be added.
The REAC stand was very busy, with a constant flow of business owners and suppliers coming to find out about the Network's activities, as well as the possibility of becoming partners (PPE, VEHICLE LEASING, etc.). Some ten companies decided to join REAC, and at least 31 roadside assistance operators received training on the two courses organised by the Network at the Fireca venue.
The positive feeling among members was clear from the comments they passed on to us on each day of Fireca, regarding the excellent organisation ("everything was great… I don't think it could have been better"), the tremendous opportunity for members to meet ("at the stand we had the chance to share opinions and get to know each other"), and the great work put into the fair in its first year ("we hope it gets better in the coming years and grows a lot, as much as we do").
Member companies and professionals from different parts of the country, from Vilafranca del Penedès (Barcelona) and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria to Cádiz, Madrid, Murcia and Ciudad Real, described REAC's gathering at Fireca as a team meeting in which every member already feels part of a big family. Until next year, Seville!
