At a time of rapid transformation in transport, assisting electric vehicles has become one of the sector's greatest technical and operational challenges. Aware of this reality, REAC, the Network of Roadside Assistance Companies, is organising the 2nd International Meeting of Roadside Assistance Companies, which will take place on 9 and 10 October at Motor World Mallorca.
The event will bring together professionals, companies and institutional representatives from more than ten countries —including France, Germany, Portugal, Belgium, Canada, Luxembourg, Italy, England, the Netherlands, Morocco and Spain— with a common goal: to share experiences, analyse challenges and move towards an international model of collaboration and safety in electric vehicle assistance.
⚡ A sector in full evolution: the challenges of assisting electric vehicles
The rise of the electric vehicle is redefining assistance needs and intervention protocols. Over the two days, key topics will be addressed, such as:
- Occupational risks in assisting electric vehicles, both light and heavy.
- Safety protocols and preventive measures against high voltage.
- Analysis of operating costs, specialised training, technical resources and economic sustainability.
- Development of certification tools, such as the TOW SOFT project, which seeks to standardise quality and safety in the service.
🤝 Towards an international collaboration network
Beyond the technical component, the meeting will promote the creation of an international body or sector cluster, aimed at promoting good practice, sharing knowledge and representing assistance companies with a single voice before European bodies.
The round tables and working sessions will culminate in the drafting of a joint document, which will be presented to the European Union as a roadmap for the evolution of the sector.
📍 A meeting point for the future of roadside assistance
Motor World Mallorca, in Platja de Palma, will host this event combining technical training, international collaboration and strategic vision. Authorities, associations and industry representatives will take part in the institutional welcome, followed by two intensive days of debate, learning and networking among professionals.
🧩 REAC: driving change through collaboration
This second meeting reaffirms REAC's commitment to the professionalisation and modernisation of roadside assistance. The network continues to consolidate its position as a leading platform for cooperation between companies, championing innovation, safety and sustainability as the pillars of the sector's future.
